Welcome to my blog! In a nutshell, I am a photographer serving Southern Maryland and surrounding areas.
I work both on-location and in my studio in Hollywood, MD.
I am married to my high school sweetheart.
I am a mom to three really amazing little kiddos.
I am the co-owner of a very large, crazy puppy who will be lucky to survive his first year if he doesn't stop destroying everything in his path.
I am an animal lover. Really.
I am addicted to Starbucks, chocolate and Pepsi. If I wasn't, you'd never get your portraits.
I am terrified of spiders.
I am a huge fan of reading, knitting and anything that gets me outdoors.
I am most likely going to show up to your session dressed in a t-shirt, jeans and flip flops because...
I am probably going to end up in the water, in the mud, in the dirt, up in a tree or anywhere necessary to get that perfect photograph of your child.
I am a TERRIBLE singer, so if I break into song to make your child smile, feel free to plug your ears. It won't offend me. Really.
I am a TERRIBLE dancer, so if I break into the Hokey Pokey to make your child laugh, feel free to cover your eyes. It won't offend me. Really.
I am extremely grateful to be able to call this my job.
I am looking forward to meeting you and your family and having an opportunity to capture this special time in your lives!

Twice as fun! | St. Mary’s County senior portraits

Hey seniors! Did you know you can share a session with a friend? The two of you get to do your session at the same time (which is tons of fun), you get the same number of poses and proofs in your ordering gallery AND you get to split the session fee!!! I’ll also take a few shots of the two of you together! Now you know you wanna!!!

If you would like to help support the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization as well as our Bay Breeze Photography families who are entered, you can do one of two things. First, by registering and providing your email address for confirmation, you receive 5 “points” that you can give to our contestants. We have been assured that your email address is being used only to keep things fair, and that other than an update on this particular contest, it will be not be used for any other purpose. The second way you can help is by making a donation to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep from your chosen contestant’s page. For each $1 you donate, the contestant receives one vote. Remember your donations are tax deductible and they will email you a receipt to keep for your records!

It is a wonderful organization which provides photographic services, free of charge, to families with a baby born critically or terminally ill, or who experience a stillbirth.

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful holiday season! I have some exciting news to share! I am a BIG fan of the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation and am thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to help support it. This year Bay Breeze Photography is participating in the International Charity Model Search to select North America’s Cutest Kid and to raise funds for the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation. The last two years this event featured over 2,600 model’s images and raised $184,775 for the NILMDTS organization.
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS), is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization committed to assisting parents and families who experience the tragedy of an early infant loss. NILMDTS connects families with volunteer photographers and provides them with a professional portrait session and reproducible CD of the images of their baby at no cost to the family. So, how can you help while giving your child the opportunity to win a fantastic prize package? Is your child North America’s Cutest Kid? We’ll give you the opportunity to prove it! The grand prize winner will win a $2500 savings bond, a $2500 travel package, and a $100 Target gift card. The second and third place runners up each will win a $500 savings bond and a $100 Target gift card.
Model Search Special:
$25 entrance fee includes a 30-minute model session and one image submitted to the international gallery. One entrance fee is required per child. These special model sessions must take place in our new studio in Hollywood, MD between January 1, 2011-March 31, 2011. Special print packages will be available for purchase from these sessions, with a portion of the proceeds going to NILMDTS. Families who have booked regular (either studio or on location) sessions to take place during the time of the Model Search will receive one complimentary entry per session. (Additional entries may be purchased for additional children).
Finalists will be determined by online votes. Each vote is $1 (no limit on the amount of votes you can cast), and all proceeds from votes benefit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS.org). Every family member who registers their information on the Charity Model Search Website will also receive 1 complimentary vote. The top 5 paid votes, and the top 5 complimentary votes in each region will move on to the final judging round for a total of 50 finalists.
Grand prize international winner and runners up will be determined from the 50 regional finalists. The winner and runners up are selected by photography experts.

Dreaming of Daddy | A From Home To Heroes Session

I love watching babies sleep and always wonder what they might be dreaming of. Now with this particular baby it was no mystery whatsoever. I can tell you without a doubt that she is dreaming of her Daddy. She is dreaming of finally getting to meet him and of getting her first Daddy hugs and kisses. You see, her Daddy is far, far away right now serving our country and doing his best to make sure that she grows up in a safer, better world. While my heart breaks for them missing out on this time together, I am so very grateful for the sacrifices that her whole family is making right now. So sweet dreams little angel! I pray that your Daddy is home safe and sound very soon so that you can quickly wrap him around your perfect little fingers.
Oh, and by-the-way, she also has the cutest big brother EVER! I could’ve just taken him home with me!

Southern Maryland Senior Portraits

Well senior portrait season is in full swing. I LOVE this time of year! Tons of gorgeous subjects who follow directions and who don’t make me work up a sweat chasing them down and doing silly dances to make them smile. Don’t get me wrong, I adore my tiny subjects, but senior portraits are nice for a change of pace for a couple months out of the year.
I just finished proofing this beauty’s session and I couldn’t help but share some here. LOVED her outfits!! LOVED her session! I hope she has an amazing senior year!!!

Not only is this sweet baby girl insanely cute but she really hit the jackpot when it comes to parents. Her mommy and daddy are so smitten with her that it makes you feel good just being in the same room with them. I’m so grateful to have been able to spend my morning with this new little family!
Can you believe all that hair?!?! I told you! Insanely cute!!

The pictures are perfect, but your write up brought tears to my eyes. I’m sure the family will treasure these forever. Wonderful images, children, and family.
These are beautiful! Thank you so much for the photos and for the kind words. My husband and I will truly cherish these. =) Oh, & I think my son had a little crush on you too! I’ve never seen him so giddy!
