Southern Maryland Senior Portraits

Well senior portrait season is in full swing.  I LOVE this time of year!  Tons of gorgeous subjects who follow directions and who don’t make me work up a sweat chasing them down and doing silly dances to make them smile.  Don’t get me wrong, I adore my tiny subjects, but senior portraits are nice for a change of pace for a couple months out of the year.  :)

I just finished proofing this beauty’s session and I couldn’t help but share some here.  LOVED her outfits!!  LOVED her session!  I hope she has an amazing senior year!!!

Magic of Childhood Mini Sessions | Maryland Children’s Photography

We are now booking special mini sessions that celebrate the magic of childhood.  Does your child have a special stuffed animal he can’t leave the house without?  Does your daughter spend her days having tea parties with her favorite dolls?  Do you have a super hero or fairy princess?  Or maybe you just want to capture your kids in fits of giggles or chasing butterflies or bubbles?  These mini sessions are all about documenting those sweet moments in your child’s life.

Sessions will take place on Saturday, June 12th in St. Mary’s County.  (If this date will not work for you, or if you have a special location in mind that you would like to use, please contact me.  I am not limiting these sessions to this date alone).  Sessions will last 20-30 minutes and you will have your choice of a traditional printed session or digital session.  The print session is $150 and includes an online gallery with 5-7 proofs from which to chose the following:  (1) 8×10, (2) 5×7s, (1) set of wallets and a mini desktop storyboard.  The digital session is $250 and includes a cd with 5 digital negatives with personal printing release and one 5×7 print of each negative.

I will provide an assortment of props such as super hero capes, pettiskirts, bubbles and balloons, but I highly recommend bringing your own toys or costumes from home that have special meaning to your child.  Please contact me by email (alicia@baybreezephoto.com) to schedule your session or discuss your ideas.

A Mother’s Day Gift

My morning tomorrow just opened up and I was thinking about doing something special for Mother’s Day. Soooo, the first two people who email me ( alicia@baybreezephoto.com ) will get a free mini session tomorrow morning for themselves or a friend. Sessions will take place at 10 and 10:30 in St. Marys County so the winning moms and their kids must be available for the session at that time.   The session and one 8×10 are a gift from me. Additional prints may be purchased separately. Happy Mother’s Day!!

Share The Love

In honor of Valentine’s Day I’d like to announce our Share The Love Sessions. Book your 2010 session and get two for the price of one. You can either schedule bothsessions yourself if you are planning on two sessions this year, keep one and give one as a gift OR split the cost with another friend or family so that you both get half off your session fee. Offer ends February 10th.

Brothers | Southern Maryland Children’s Photography

Just a little looksie for mom and dad while I am waiting for their proofs to come in.  They only wanted photographs of the boys together, but I found these two individual shots and couldn’t even entertain the thought of deleting them.  (Let’s just call them little bonus “gifts.”  ;) )  These two guys were just too cute for words!

A From Home To Heroes Session | Military Family Photographs

I didn’t get a chance to blog about this session before, but wanted to get it up before I forgot.  Earlier in the summer I was contacted by a wonderful client who nominated her cousin’s family for one of my “From Home To Heroes” sessions.  Her cousin is currently serving in Afghanistan and she knew he would love to have some special photos of his wife and two sons.  I jump at the chance to do these sessions whenever I can.  We owe our military families so much for their sacrifices.  This is one of the ways I use to say thank you.

Keep this amazing family in your thoughts and prayers.  I can’t wait to hear that their Marine is home safe and sound!

Remember, I offer complimentary portraits sessions to families with a parent currently serving overseas or about to be deployed.  If you would like more information, or would like to nominate a family, please email me at alicia@baybreezephoto.com  and put “From Home To Heroes” in the subject line.

A beautiful evening at the beach

Just when I think I’ve seen all of the most gorgeous beaches in Calvert County I get invited to do a session at another one. Loved this beach! Loved this family! They braved the “bedtime hour” to get a session in during our perfect summer evening light. The kiddos did amazingly well and mom and dad did everything right. It is so important to let your kids just be themselves and do their own thing during a session and to not force them to pose and be perfect. That’s the key to getting images that you will love. And I do hope they love these…

I also want to thank everyone for being so patient with me this past week. I was sick a little over a week ago and it took quite a while for me to bounce back. I should be all caught up by this weekend. Yay!! :)

One last session in Maryland

So I get a call from one of my favorite clients looking for a family session at the beach. Of course I jump at the chance. Then she gives me the news. They have put their house up for sale and will be moving soon. :( So sad for me, but happy for them as they are obviously excited about the new adventure. So no pressure here or anything. They just want some special photos to remember their time here in Maryland. ;) Luckily for me they are some of the easiest people in the world to photograph. They are so great, so much fun and just completely gorgeous. My biggest problem with them is narrowing down the number of proofs I have to show them to a reasonable number.

Anyway, here is a little sneak peek for them. We waited what seemed like forever for the sunset this night. It was so pretty though. A little Southern Maryland sunset with the Solomon’s bridge there in the background.

Their gorgeous little girl. I am convinced that this child can not take a bad picture.

Their little prince. Not sure if you can see the sand all over his face, but he was really “getting in to” this whole beach photo session thing. :)
And finally…I can’t take credit for this idea. I’ve done variations during senior sessions and engagement sessions on the beach, but never thought to do it with a family. Can I just say that I LOVE IT!!
I’ll have the rest of these up for you guys soon!!

Summer Fun

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!! We almost put the kids to bed last night assuming that the fireworks had been cancelled due to the storm. We heard a couple of fireworks go off in the distance, so we jumped in the car with the kids and raced over to Solomons. I wish I had some photos to share of the show, but in our rush to get out the door I left my camera. :( Oh well! Maybe next year!

I still have a couple of clients still patiently waiting to see their photos that I took before I left for vacation. If you are waiting, I am here to let you know that I am almost caught up and they will be ready for you shortly! Here are a couple from a session I am currently working on posting. I had to share this gorgeous little princess…

holding Daddy’s hand…awww…

and one of her brother and the crab he found on the beach.
He was definitely more interested in all the beach critters than he was in having his photo taken. :) Hey, who wouldn’t be?!?!
I’m off to get a little more work in before naptime is over. I’ll have tons of stuff to share in the coming days, including another mini session announcement. Don’t miss it!
