Southern Maryland Senior Portraits

Well senior portrait season is in full swing.  I LOVE this time of year!  Tons of gorgeous subjects who follow directions and who don’t make me work up a sweat chasing them down and doing silly dances to make them smile.  Don’t get me wrong, I adore my tiny subjects, but senior portraits are nice for a change of pace for a couple months out of the year.  :)

I just finished proofing this beauty’s session and I couldn’t help but share some here.  LOVED her outfits!!  LOVED her session!  I hope she has an amazing senior year!!!

Sometimes you just know | Southern Maryland Senior Portraits

Sometimes when I am in the middle of a session I get a shot that I just know is going to be THE shot.  This was it for this senior session:

This is my second “little sister” this year.  I took her sister’s senior portraits two years ago.  It’s frightening how quickly time passes!

I made her wait…| St. Mary’s County Senior portraits

This poor girl has been waiting too long to view her proofs.  Apparently I am completely dense because it never occurred to me (until recently) that having three children means that colds have one more little person to make miserable in my house.  I learned a few other things over the course of the past three weeks as well.  Do they get sick all at once?  Nope .  Do they do it when the pediatrician is in town holding regular office hours?  Nope.  Do they do it when the covering pediatrician is in the office closest to us?  Nope.  (Had to drive 45 minutes to the Dunkirk office three times in the last two weeks).  The poor baby is sick right now and on breathing treatments.  :(   I can’t tell you how much I am hoping that he can kick this soon so we are all better and resting comfortably at night again.

Anyway, the moral of the story is that this poor senior has been forced to wait since I’ve only been able to grab a few moments here and there to work the past couple of weeks.  Her gallery will finish uploading tonight so I am really hoping that she will be thrilled and they will be worth the wait!  Here’s a little peek…

A Senior Guy…Finally!! | Calvert County Senior Portraits

This is my first senior guy from the class of 2010.  The girls’ sessions begin in June because they are so excited about their senior portraits, but I usually don’t see the guys until school is about to start.  I really enjoyed meeting this senior and his family.  I love the way his portraits came out.  Even if he wouldn’t jump into the pool for me….  ;)

She’s Got the Look | Charles County Senior Portraits

This beautiful gal’s big sister was the first senior I photographed.  Ever!  I was thrilled to be able to do her senior portraits as well, and even more thrilled when I saw the cute outfits she’d selected for her session.  The umbrella is mine.  My daughter picked it out when we got stuck in a store during a downpour one day.  It is HUGE and so bright that we definitely do not blend in to the crowd when we carry it.  The nice part is that it is big enough to keep me dry as well as all the kids.  Personally I was thrilled to death when this senior wanted to use it during her session.  I hope she is as excited about the resulting shots as I am…

‘Tis the Season | Maryland Senior Portraits

I am up to my elbows proofing senior sessions right now, so I thought I’d share.  Unlike my session this past Wednesday, we had a gorgeous evening at the beach for this session.

I hope you guys had an uneventful trip and are all settled in after your move!!  Your CD will be on its way to you shortly!

Simply Stunning

I don’t have to ooh and ahh over how gorgeous this senior was. I’m sure your vision is just fine, so I’ll just let you look for yourself. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this session and was so happy to finally get to meet this senior! ;) I’m working on getting your gallery up now, so I’ll have it ready for you soon! Thanks for being so patient!

My Shane

I think we all have at least one person in our lives that makes us feel our age. (a.k.a OLD :) ) This is my person. I was 12ish when he was born, and as our parents are very good friends, my brother and I spent a lot of time with him and his big sis. My mom even babysat for him for a time. He was my living baby doll. I got to dress him up, carry him around and just loved him to bits. Well, gulp, he’s graduating. Being the typical senior guy, he waited until the last possible second to get dragged in by his mom to get his senior portraits done. His one little problem was that I knew I could do absolutely anything I wanted with him and he couldn’t tell me no. ;) I intended to drag him out in the snow this past winter, but much to my dismay, we really never had a snowfall stick long enough to arrange it. Soooo, I put him in the river. Ha Ha! Cough cough! It was cold. It was raining. It was nasty. And, yes, I took the poor guy (tux and all) and put him in the Patuxent River. I don’t expect him to be referring me to any of his friends. :)

Anyway, enough babbling from me.
Here is my Shane:

I have better shots of him in the river, but thought I’d share this one showing the rain and misery. :)

Congratulations Shane!! Smooch!
